Data has become an integral part of our (professional) lives. In almost all areas, data helps you to better understand facts and make more precise decisions. Data skills are the key to being able to use and interpret data correctly. Even though you may not realize it, you work with, interact with and generate data every day. This data is becoming increasingly important for companies and forms the basis for decisions and business models.
What can I expect from continuing education?
In our training courses, you will learn the most important basics that you need to start your career as a data expert. The training offers you a mixture of video content with recorded lessons from our data experts, text content, short quizzes that reinforce what you have learned and, above all, programming exercises to directly learn the practical application and apply it to your circumstances in your later everyday job. In the advanced training courses you will be ideally prepared for a later application in your job. At the end of our Career Tracks and sponsored training courses (Business Intelligence Specialist, Data Analyst, Data Scientist, Python Programmer), you can expect a final project and the corresponding exam. If you have worked through all the learning content and passed your final exam, your participation and the knowledge and skills you have gained will be certified with a certificate of participation.

For our participants
I didn't study, can I still become a Data Analyst or Data Scientist?
If you are wondering whether you have to meet any requirements to become a Data Analyst or Data Scientist, we can reassure you. Basically, the same applies to Data Analysts and Data Scientists as to any other profession: If you are motivated and committed, if you are willing to learn and constantly develop yourself further and to get to know the field, then doors will always be open to you. Of course, degrees and relevant experience help, but they are not everything, they can only shorten the path to your dream job. You probably won't become a Data Scientist directly by lateral entry, but you can enter the data industry and gradually work your way up. If you didn't go to college, you may still have gained important work experience in exchange for other important skills like analytical thinking or industry-specific expertise. These skills are very valuable for working with data.
Do I have to take a break from my job or take time off for continuing education?
No, the training is designed to be flexible and part-time. You can pursue your profession without restrictions and can schedule your learning times as they fit best for you.
I do not live in Germany. Can I still participate in continuing education?
Yes, even if you do not live in Germany, you can participate in our training courses. Because our trainings take place online, you are flexible in terms of location and time zone. All you need to participate is a working computer or laptop, internet access and German or English language skills on at least B2 level.
I would like to take a vacation (in summer) during the training period. Is participation still possible?
Yes, we have designed our training courses to be flexible in terms of time and have built in buffer weeks so that time off is possible. You can therefore decide for yourself when you want to devote yourself to the training content. The training must be completed within the agreed time. The distribution of your learning time is completely up to you.
I learned programming some time ago, can I now go straight into the Data Scientist course?
You have good Data Scientist prerequisites if you already have an interest in programming languages and even prior knowledge. In order to successfully participate in the Data Scientist training, we recommend that you have a particularly good knowledge of Python and common modules (Pandas, Matplotlib), because the training already assumes this and builds on it. If you do not have any previous knowledge in this area, we recommend that you first attend our course in Python programming or also our Data Analyst Continuing Education. Gladly advise we will meet with you personally and work out a learning path together with you in a 15-minute meeting.
Are the training courses only available in German or also in other languages?
We offer continuing education in both German and English. Due to the fact that we produce our content in German first, it is possible that some of our video lessons are only available in German with English subtitles. However, we are continuously working here to regularly update and expand our offering in both languages.
My German or English skills are max. at B1 level. Can I still participate in continuing education?
It is sufficient if you are at B2 level or higher in one of the two languages.
If this is not the case, the answer is unfortunately no. We want to make sure that you fully understand the subject content and can therefore get through the training quickly. It would be a great pity if you had to drop out of the course because of comprehension problems.
I believe that my knowledge of mathematics and statistics is not sufficient. Can I still participate in continuing education?
Don't worry, because you really don't have to be a math ace to start a continuing education program at StackFuel. Many skills will be taught to you during the training. However, a basic understanding and openness for mathematics is helpful. If you are still unsure whether your skills are sufficient for our career paths (Data Analyst and Data Scientist), please contact us and take our aptitude test.

How do I determine a need for further training in the company?
We distinguish between a general and individual need for further training. Data is becoming increasingly important and is already critical to success when strategic decisions are made today. Accordingly, basic data skills are now essential in most departments and job roles. Deep data skills are also now required in most organizations, and companies are increasingly choosing to build these skills in-house to bridge the skills shortage. In order to determine the need for further training, L&D and specialist departments should jointly create information offerings and use internal questionnaires to determine the need for future skills. It is important to inform employees about these future skills and explain how they can affect career paths.
What conditions do I/my company have to fulfill in order to receive a continuing education grant?
If there is a need for further training within the company, the Qualification Opportunity Act. Funding is available for a variety of target groups, from employees who want to develop or reorient themselves within an organization, to bottleneck occupations and skills shortages. To qualify for funding, companies must find a certified training provider such as StackFuel, identify their training needs, coordinate the funding with the Employer Services (AGS) of the Employment Agency. In this way, companies can benefit from the funding provided by the Qualification Opportunities Act and targeted further training to qualify and motivate employees in a future-proof manner.
Prerequisites for further training
Is there a placement test?
There is a placement test. However, this is only mandatory for those who participate in a subsidized continuing education program. The test helps to determine whether potential participants can really benefit from further education and meet the necessary requirements to be able to successfully follow the learning content.
What is asked in the placement test?
The placement test asks about general knowledge and basic requirements. These mainly relate to basic mathematical and scientific knowledge as well as an understanding of programming logic. Here we ask only absolute basic knowledge, so you should not be afraid of the test, because it is completely in your sense. We simply want to make sure that you have the best learning experience with us and that you will be able to successfully participate in further education.
I can't decide between your continuing education courses. How do I find the right training for me?

Can I book individual sub-modules from the continuing education courses?
Unfortunately, this is not possible, because our training modules build on each other. To guarantee your learning success, we can therefore not take them out of the context of the overall course. However, we will be happy to advise you on which training course best meets your requirements and expectations. Book with pleasure Consultation with us.
Are there any additional costs that I need to plan for?
No, there are no additional costs for you. Only if you don't have access to a computer and the Internet, you would have to take care of this yourself, which might incur costs.
What do I need to know before I start my training?
Technical requirements
What technical equipment do I need to participate in the training?
In order to participate in our training courses, you need a working PC or laptop and Internet access. This does not have to meet any specific technical requirements. The browser should have the latest version. Please use Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge or Apple Safari. Internet Explorer is unfortunately not supported by our learning platform. The only exception is our Power BI training, where you would need a Windows environment.
Can I participate offline?
Unfortunately, no. You will need internet access as we only offer online training.
Which browser is supported?
Please use Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge or Apple Safari. Your browser should have the latest browser version. Internet Explorer is not supported by our learning platform.
Continuing education environment
Can I get a demo account to take a look at the platform?
We currently only give demo access to companies that want to book a larger number of training courses and need to determine whether the platform meets their company's requirements.
Where does the training take place?
Our training takes place exclusively online on the StackFuel learning platform. All you need is a computer or laptop and Internet access. The PC does not have to meet any special technical requirements. You will receive your login data for the online learning platform by e-mail shortly before the start of the training.
How does the continuing education work?
The training starts with a kick-off webinar in which we introduce you to what you can expect in the coming weeks. You will get the chance to meet other participants and our mentoring team. Throughout the training period, our dedicated mentoring team will be there to help and advise you through weekly group webinars, email, phone and forum support. In this way, we ensure that we can support you in your training and help you if you have any questions or problems. At the end of the course, you will complete a final project to demonstrate what you have learned about data analysis. If you have worked through all the content and successfully passed the final exam, you will receive an official certificate of completion from us.

Organizational issues
Can I really arrange my learning times freely?
Yes, our online training courses are designed to offer you the greatest possible flexibility. In general, we recommend that you plan six to eight hours per week for learning. When you schedule this time is up to you and is not dictated by us. In our Career Tracks - the Busineless Intelligence Specialist, Data Analyst, Data Scientist Course and Python Programmer - we offer live webinars where you can ask our mentors questions. Participation is not mandatory if it does not fit into your schedule.
Are the live webinars optional or mandatory?
Participation is compulsory for persons taking part in further training as part of state-subsidized further training. For all other persons, the webinars are voluntary events and are usually recorded.
Why should I attend the live webinars?
In the live webinars, questions that arise during your training or content about which you would like to ask more in-depth questions are answered. You also get the opportunity to participate in the questions and experiences of other participants and to exchange ideas with them. This will give you an even better understanding of the content and your current learning progress.
How can I track my learning progress?
The division into chapters gives you the chance to track your learning progress and the percentage display at each chapter allows you to always see exactly how far you have come within a lesson.
Are there certain fixed hours per week that I need to keep free?
We generally recommend that you plan six to eight hours per week for training. When you schedule this time is up to you and is not dictated by us. Part of the training are webinars where you can ask our mentors questions, but you don't have to attend if it doesn't fit into your schedule and you are not participating in a sponsored training.
What happens when I am sick?
If you fall ill, you can of course suspend the training for this time. In order to maintain your flexibility, we have included a time buffer to allow you to catch up on the missed content. The same applies in case of vacation. In case of extended vacation or illness, please contact our Training Operation Administration Team. Please note: If you are financing the training with an education voucher, you must inform our Mentoring/Training Operations Administration Team and submit a certificate of incapacity for work.
Content issues
Who do I contact if I have questions?
If you have any questions before the start of the training, you are welcome to contact our Contact support. During the training you will be accompanied from onboarding to offboarding by our dedicated mentoring team and support, who are always available to answer your questions. You can also use our community forum to exchange ideas with other participants.
What does the further training content consist of?
In our online training courses, you develop your data skills with interactive learning formats. You will learn how to deal with data in reality and how to get the full potential out of it. Our professional development content consists of text content, video tutorials, quizzes, business cases and coding challenges. At the end of our Career Tracks (BI Specialist, Data Analyst, Data Scientist, Python Programmer), a final project and the evaluation of your learning success by our mentors are waiting for you.
Why is the training divided into chapters?
By dividing the course into chapters, we want to give you the chance to spend no more than six to eight hours each week, so that you can plan your training well. We have had the best experience with this variant in order to ensure a balance between work and free time and to give you enough space to let the learning content sink in. If you have more time available, the part-time option is a good option for you.
Can I get access to all continuing education content immediately?
No, unfortunately that is not possible. Our courses follow a specific schedule. Unfortunately, we cannot consider or fulfill such wishes.
What is the Data Lab?
The Data Lab is our award-winning learning platform on which we offer our training courses. With the help of the Data Lab, you can access your training from anywhere.
How realistic is your training content?
In our training courses, we place a special focus on ensuring that the content is realistic and practical. With us, you work with interactive learning formats from practice with real business cases and coding challenges that ideally prepare you for working with data using data sets from industry. With us, you'll learn how to deal with data in real life and generate the most value from it.
Will I get a summary of the content?
During your training you will receive small summaries of the most important contents, which will also support you after the training.
What happens after the further training?
What work experience helps with lateral entry into a data job?
It's hard to believe, but data jobs are diverse and vary from company to company and industry to industry. That's why the work experience you've already gained will help you get into a data job in your industry. If you also work regularly on the computer, think analytically, and are creative and communicative, you have important prerequisites. You can learn everything else you need for a data job in our training courses.
Am I qualified to work in this profession after further training as a data analyst and data scientist and can I make a lateral move?
Yes, after successful completion of the training, you will receive a certificate of completion from us that you can show in your job applications. Data Analysts and Data Scientists are desperately sought after in many business sectors. Even without relevant work experience, your chances of finding an entry-level job are good. In addition, there are analysts in almost every industry who have different job titles, but the skills you need are the same as those of a data analyst or data scientist.
Do you offer a job guarantee?
No, we do not offer a guarantee, but we have been able to collect many positive examples so far and can assure you that the probability of entering a data profession after our training courses increases enormously with our certificates. Will I be placed in a job through you guys?
We are currently working on expanding our job and career portal. Although we do not currently offer job placement services, we do guide participants in a funded training program through specialized career coaching for the data industry.
Will I receive a certificate or confirmation of participation after the training?
Yes, absolutely! If you have successfully passed the training, you will receive a certificate of completion recognized by ZFU and AZAV, which confirms your newly learned skills. You will receive this as a PDF as well as a link to integrate and share it on LinkedIn or XING, for example. You can use both to certify your new skills in job applications or to your employer.
What is the salary as a Data Analyst or Data Scientist?
As in other professions, your salary varies depending on the industry, company, location, field of activity and position. In a data profession, you can earn up to 108,200 euros annually. What are the special features of subsidized continuing education courses?
Which further training courses are state-subsidized?
Almost all of our training courses, such as BI Specialist, Data Analyst, Data Scientist, Python Basics, Python Programmer, Python Object Oriented Programming, Advanced Programming for Data Scientist, are subsidized both full and part time. To take one of these training courses with 100% cost coverage, you only need an education voucher from the Federal Employment Agency.
Is there a difference between subsidized and non-subsidized continuing education?
Yes, our sponsored training courses differ from the non-subsidized training courses in terms of scope and duration; we offer separate career coaching and mentoring to prepare participants for a lateral entry into the data industry. In addition, participants must study for a set number of hours per week, and participation in all webinars is mandatory.
How do I get an education voucher and do I meet the requirements?
You can receive further training thanks to an education voucher with the approval of the job center or the employment agency. Are the live webinars within the funded training optional or mandatory?
Participation in the live webinars and attendance at the daily check-ins is mandatory. For more information, please contact our Training Operations Administration Team. Detailed information will also be covered in the training kick-off webinar.
What financing options are there?
Is there a possibility to participate in your trainings without own costs?
Yes, it is! We offer state-subsidized, certified continuing education courses that you can attend with an education voucher and with 100 percent cost absorption by the Federal Employment Agency. Employees can also qualify for an education voucher. What payment options can I choose from?
You can pay with credit card, PayPal or SEPA direct debit. Direct bank transfers are also possible.
An education voucher is out of the question for me, how else can I finance the course?
Employees can also qualify for an education voucher. If funding is still not an option for you, there is still the possibility that your employer will (co-)finance your further education. If this option is also ruled out, we award scholarships from time to time to people who have difficult circumstances.
