Our History.

Berlin, 2017. Stefan Berntheisel and Leo Marose founded StackFuel—driven by one conviction: technological skills belong to everyone. What began as a vision has grown into one of Germany’s leading EdTech companies—with clients such as Deutsche Bahn, Mercedes-Benz, and Telefónica.

In 2026, Multiverse, Europe’s only EdTech unicorn, acquired StackFuel. It was a long-anticipated acquisition: to train 100,000 workers in Germany for the AI era. In this way, a Berlin startup has become a European response to a German challenge.

Our Milestones.

2026

Multiverse acquires StackFuel: Together we are strengthening the qualification of specialists for the AI era and accelerating AI upskilling throughout Germany.

2025

Growth of over 70 percent. Expansion of QCG-sponsored training to B2B customers. Integration of AI training into the training portfolio.

2024

Expansion of activities through a new offer for SMEs through the Qualification Opportunities Act (QCG).

2023

Expansion of corporate partnerships, particularly in the transformation and restructuring process.

2022

Training milestone of over 5,000 graduates is reached.

2021

Receipt of BMBF funding for the "Toolbox Datenkompetenz" and "Coding Labs" projects. Receipt of the E-Learning Award with Deutsche Bahn.

2020

Development of a new offer for the qualification of jobseekers in data careers, certified by the Federal Employment Agency (AZAV).

2019

Start of cooperation with Deutsche Bahn and start of a sales and marketing partnership with Haufe Akademie.

2018

The StackFuel team grows and wins its first B2B customers such as Telefónica, Mercedes and BMW. Receipt of the HR Innovation Award.

2017

Foundation of StackFuel GmbH. Received several awards, including the Digital Innovation Founder Competition and the LEARNTEC Startup Award.

2016

Launch of the EXIST-funded "dataX Academy" project to establish a data academy for companies.
